What happened:
Round 1 saw American debutant Jackson Suber at the head of affairs at -5. Suber was an exception as a later starter making a better score. Am I trying to make excuses for our selections? Maybe.
MacIntyre was best-placed of our choices at -3. Hatton (-1) and Gotterup (Level) were next best. Fitzpatrick (+2), Burns and Clark (+3) all have work to do. Rose at five over will be fighting to make the cut.
A record equalling 62 from Lucas Herbert saw him top the leaderboard after the second round. Burns also shot a 62 to be five under, three strokes back. MacIntyre is a shot further back at -4 with Hatton also in contention at -3 and Gotterup at -2.
Clark, Rose (both +3) and Fitzpatrick (+4) all missed the cut.
Round 3 ended with Burns on top of the leaderboard after a 67 took him to -10 for the championship, two clear of the field. MacIntyre (-3) is in with a shout of some place money but Gotterup (E) and Hatton (+1) look to be out of the running.
The Final round saw Burns drop out of top spot with a 72 to finsih on -8, two behind winner Ryan Fox. Gotterup finished T18th (-3), MacIntyre T28th (-2) and Hatton T69th at four over.
So, close but just the £9.90 to the pot.
