2018 catch-up

Right I've been a bit slack so let's have a quick catch-up

K had a golf bet - £14 outlay, £15 pick-up

I blew £3 on Ding for the Snooker

Mensur Suljovic (£1 e/w) didn't win the World Grand Prix

But Geraint Thomas £5 did win SPOTY at 23/10 to give us £16.50

13 December - PDC World Darts

The bet: £3 e/w Rob Cross @ 16/1

Placed by: P

Info:

Cross started with a win against the Japanese qualifier
In the second round he survived match darts against Michael Smith
He brushed aside John Henderson 4-1 in the third round
Dimitri van de Bergh gave Cross a scare before losing 5-4
Cross survived more match darts against MvG in the semi-final before winning 6-5
And then went on to lift the trophy with victory over Phil Taylor

A £70 pick-up. Nice!

3 October - World Grand Prix Darts

The Bet: £4 win Daryl Gurney @ 4/1

Placed by: P

Info:

The bet was placed on Gurney reaching the last eight and being in a tasty side of the draw.

The Northern Irishman edged out 2015 winner Robert Thornton 3-2 in the quarters, saw off Scot John Henderson in the semis 4-1 and beat Aussie Simon Whitlock in a thrilling final 5-4.

We have a winner!

22 July - World Matchplay Darts

The bets

Michael Smith - £1 e/w @ 40/1
Mensur Suljovic - £1 e/w @ 40/1

Placed by: P

Info

Smith was the first man knocked out (good work me) while Suljovic at least made the quarters before bowing out.

20 July - Open Championship

The bets

Thomas Pieters - £1 e/w @ 66/1
Rafa Cabrera Bello - £1/e/w @ 70/1
Lee Westwood - £1 e/w @ 80/1
Rickie Fowler - £2 e/w @ 16/1
John Rahm - £2 e/w @ 18/1
Tommy Fleetwood £2 e/w @ 25/1

Placed by: K

Info:

Rafa Cabrera Bello finished equal fourth, seven behind, without ever looking like winning to give a bet covering pick-up.

Fowler (E), Westwood (+1), Fleetwood (+1), Rahm (+3) and Pieters (+3) all made it to the weekend but couldn't get in the money.
