2025 US Open

What happened:

Tough course!

Aberg and Niemann missed the cut, while English made the weekend by a single shot.

Morikawa, Young and Scheffler were all at four over which has good enough for =23rd place.

Those three were seven shots behind the leader Sam Burns.

Burns took the lead into the final round but couldn't cope with the weather and slipped to four over, tied seventh, five shots behind winner JJ Spaun. Scheffler also finished on four over, Morikawa was eight over (T23rd) while our best-placed selection was Cam Young at three over.

Young and Burns each-way money put £52 in the pot.

2025 US PGA Championship

What happened:

Thomas (+3), Aberg (+3), Cantlay (+6) and Spieth (+2) all missed the cut.

Homa was best placed after two rounds at five under, three off the pace, with Fleetwood a further three shots back.

World number one Scottie Scheffler took control on day three, racing to 11 under, three shots clear of the field. Homa (even) and Fleetwood (+2) have work to do to make the places.

On the final day Homa faded to six over for =60th place, Fleetwood fared a little better, two over for a share of 41st. No return.

2025 World Snooker Championship

What happened:

Ding bowed out in round two - on the wrong end of a Luca Brecel masterclass.

Higgins exited in the quarters, going down in a final ball, final frame classic against old rival Mark Williams.

The Welshman also accounted for our main choice, Judd Trump, 17-14 in the semis.

(Williams lost in the final to Zhao Xintong - our choice for the 2022 tournament)

2025 US Masters Golf

What happened:

Hojgaard missed the cut and Bhatia just scraped through to the weekend righty on the cut mark.

After three rounds, DeChambeau was in second on 10 under,  two behind leader Rory McIlroy. Reed was tied for fourth six back and Lowry was tied for sixth a stroke further behind. (Bhatia was joint last of those that made the weekend at five over.)

Lowry struggled to an 81 on the final day and finished +4 for the tournament, the same mark as Bhatia.

DeChambeau briefly led but fell away to finish tied fifth on seven under.

Reed got closest to eventual winner McIlroy. His final round 69 lifted him to nine under and third place, two shots behind the winner.

All that put £41 in the pot.

2025 UK Open Darts

The bets: (placed ahead of the the last 32 stage)

What happened:

All three made the last 16 but Clayton and Schindler drew each other, the Welshman coming out on top. Joyce ran into a rampant Luke Humphries and went down 10-2.

Clayton was beaten 11-6 in the semi-finals by eventual champion Luke Littler.

What happened:

Nijman went out in the second round to a fired up Joe Cullen. An injured Gary Anderson bowed out at the same stage to Jeffrey De Graaf.

Rock lost 4-2 to Chris Dobey in round three.
